THE SIBERIAN TIGER


The Siberian tiger is a subspecie of tiger that is endangered.
In the past it lived in Western Asia,Central Asia and Eastern Russia but now it is completely confined to the Amour-Ussuri, region of Primarsky Krai and Khabarovsk Krai in far eastern Siberia where it si now protected. Nowadays the Siberian tiger is the biggest of the eight recent tiger subspecies.
The Siberian tigers are typically 5-10 cm taller than the Bengal tigers.Males mesure about 270-330cm long and weigh 100-167Kg. The famales are smaller than males. They mesure about 240-275cm long and weigh 100-167Kg like the males.
The Siberian tiger started to be endangered when the Soviet Union started to fall. People didn't have enough money to live and they didn't have job then they started to hunt Siberian tigers and sold their skins. Then in 1992 an intensive conservation program conducted by scientists from Russia and other countries began.
To sum up, this naturale reserves help Siberian tiger not to disappear.
